According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the SENTRI application processing time is around 10 to 12 months. Some applications may be processed more quickly, while others take longer. Check the Trusted Traveler Program website regularly for updates of your application status.

If you have applied for SENTRI or NEXUS but prefer Global Entry (GE), you may convert your application to a GE once it's been conditionally approved. You must pay the difference in the application fee, if applicable. This option is not available if you have already scheduled a SENTRI or NEXUS interview.
