A frugal travel expert, notorious for finding incredible budget-friendly holiday stays, has imparted a savvy trick that may save you a fortune when booking Airbnb properties.
Chelsea, the genius behind popular social media page Cheap Holiday Expert, provides handy tips to track down cost-effective services, food and lodgings.
In a new video on her Instagram, Chelsea revealed how she bagged an unbelievable 21 percent saving on a Manchester Airbnb rental.
The travel enthusiast snapped up a truly "amazing" houseboat for a short city break, kitted out with a cosy double bed, functional kitchen, warming log burner, comfy living area, bathroom facilities, and even boasted the 'smallest bar in Manchester'.
Chelsea divulged her initial find of the Floating Homestays - African themed boat listed for £132 per night (plus a tidy £20 cleaning fee) on Airbnb.

Never settling, she decided to embark on some investigative work to establish if there were cheaper alternatives available to book the property directly, reports Wales Online.
Proffering this guidance, she urged would-be explorers to keep their eyes peeled for certain key words that might aid their bargain-finding mission. By focusing on prominent keywords from the title, Chelsea managed locate the quirky barge advertised on its own dedicated website for a mere £120 per night.
Chelsea said: "This is a great hack, I use it all the time."
Further adding in her post's caption: "There's SO MUCH CHOICE on Airbnb but as there becomes more and more places for owners to list their properties, it is ALWAYS worth checking to see if you can find the same accommodation on another platform for less.

"This could be on another booking site including: Vrbo, Booking.com, Sykes, HolidayLettings. The reason this can sometimes work out cheaper is because Airbnb charges guests a service fee in addition to the cost per night.
"Another option could also be to check to see if: The owner has their own website or social media. This one can often work out the cheapest since they're not having to give away part of their fee to the platform."
However, the savvy travel guru issued a word of caution to those seeking alternatives to Airbnb for their holiday accommodation. She highlighted the importance of understanding who you are entering into an 'agreement' with when securing a rental and stressed the need to consider what kind of support and options for recourse are available in case plans change, cancellations occur, or issues arise.

She added: "Now, there's pros and cons for both - some individuals may provide a much better service than a big company, and then for others it would be vice versa.
“So always check the reviews and whether you’re booking direct or on any platform, always be on the lookout for false listings where someone has simply lifted the photos from an existing holiday let (let me know if you’d like me to cover spotting this in more depth!).”
